Beef Tehari is a popular and flavorful rice dish from Bangladesh, combing aromatic Basmati Rice with tender Beef and rich spices. This recipe brings Restaurant-style taste straight to your home kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Basmati Rice

  • 700gm Beef (with bone)

  • 3 Onion (thinly slice)

  • 1 tbsp Giger Paste

  • 1 tbsp Garlic Paste

  • 3 tbsp plain yogurt

  • Salt to Taste

  • ½ tbsp Turmeric Powder

  • 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder

  • 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder

  • 2-3 pieces of cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves

  • 1 tbsp Kewra Water (optical for aroma)

  • 2 tbsp Ghee

  • ½ tbsp Oil

  • Water as Needed

Instructios :

  • Wash the rice and soak it for 30 minutes.

  • In a pan, heat oil and fry the onions until golden brown. (Remove half for garnish)

  • Add ginger and garlic paste to the oil, then add beef pieces. saute for a few minutes.

  • Add turmeric, chilli powder, salt, and garam masala cook well.

  • Add yogurt and half the fried onions. Mix and ook for 10 minutes.

  • Add water as needed and cover to cook until the beef becomes tender.

  • Add the soaked rice and adjust water level so rice can cook properly but not get mushy.

  • Add ghee remaining fried onions, and kewra water. Cover and cook on  low heat (dum) for about 20 minutes.

  • Oce done gently mixed and serve hot with salad or yogurt raita.

Important Notes

  • Adjust chilli level as per your taste.
  • Used aged basmati rice for better texture.
  • Adding Ghee and Kewra water add the end boosts flavior and aroma.
